Location of Taichung:

For any tourist spot, location is the prime factor and hence the location of Taichung is very favorable as there are many means of transport by which we can reach there. The Taichung basin is found in the western plain and the location of Taichung is found there. Taichung being the third largest city in Taiwan by no doubt has tourist all throughout the year from various parts of the world.

Climate of Taichung:

The climate of the country is very pleasant and to the maximum of about 73 F can be experienced over the year. Also as the humidity level is high, the chillness prevails in the country and hence the other places in Taiwan too have a very mild climate. As china is always famous for its typhoons, Taichung also has been a victim for severe typhoons but the fact is that they occur very occasionally.

History of Taichung in a glance:

The origin of Taichung was in the year 1705 when it was parted from the country of Changhua. Right from the day it was taken as a separate country till today, we have much new advancement in the country which thereby leading to more in habitants. The country’s ruling began with the dynasty of Qing and Dadun was placed as the capital of the country. As time rolled, the Japanese won over the Chinese during the Sino Japanese War and this made the country men to be ruled under the Japanese kingdom. For more than a decade, Japanese were involved in ruling the Taiwan and they too brought so many benefits and advancements in the country.

But during the Second World War, the Chinese republic force got back their country by defeating the Japanese. We had people from native ruling the country and this was termed as the Chinese nationalist era.

Beijing is the capital as well as the second largest city of The Republic of China. It is the country’s most important cultural, economic, political and educational center. Throughout its history, this city has been the soul and heart of politics in China. Also Beijing is the country’s most important center of International communications and trade.

Geography and Climate
Beijing city is located in the Northern part of China and it has an area more than 16420 kms. Its population is more than 15 million people. Cahobai River and Yongding River are the two major rivers flowing through the city.
Beijing has a monsoon influenced humid climate, the summers are hot and humid. While winters dry, cold and windy.
The highest temperature recorded in the city is 42°c while the lowest temperature recorded is -27°c.

History
Beijing has a long history which started 50000 years ago. It has been recorded that the city had been inhabited from 3 thousand years. The city has endured many invasions for years by foreign powers, warlords, devastating fires and rise and fall of powerful dynasties. From the earliest days, this city has been an important Chinese trading center. Thirty four Emperors have lived in this city and ruled the coumtry from here.

Architecture
Architecture in Beijing has three dominant styles. First is the Imperial China’s traditional architecture which is shown on the ‘Tiananmen’, the Imperial Ancestral Temple, Temple of Heaven and the Forbidden City. Second is the ‘Sino-Sov’ style architecture shown in the structures built between 1950 and 1970. these structures are usually poorly made, bland and boxy. Third are the more modern structures usually found in the Beijing CBD area and Beijing Financial street.
In the 21st century Beijing city has witnessed a growth of new buildings which show numerous modern styles by International designers.

Culture
The Beijing dialect is spoken by the native people of urban Beijing. People of the rural area of the city speak their own dialects which are similar to the Helioi province. Most of the residents of Beijing belong to the Han Chinese community. Manchu, Mongol and Hui are the other ethnic minorities present in Beijing.

Attractions
Beijing city is an attraction to both the domestic and foreign tourists, due to its old history and cultural relics. The main attractions of the city includes the ‘Tiananmen Square’ which is the world’s largest biggest central square, a well-preserved portion of the ‘Great Wall of China’, the ‘Forbidden City’, which is the best and largest preserved imperial palace complex and the ‘Temple of Heaven’ which is the world’s largest sacrificial complex. Beijing has many towering skyscrapers and busy shopping malls. The most popular and famous commercial streets are located near the Gumao shopping Mall, Yanshe Shopping Mall, Xidan street and Qianmen Street.
The restaurants in Beijing offer a variety of Chinese and Western dishes and the hotels have very high standards of service.

Shanghai city stands among the largest metropolitan cities in the world. In terms of population also it is one of the largest cities in China. Shanghai is located on the central eastern coast of China near the mouth of Yangtze River and is administered as a municipality. It has a province level status. Shanghai has a population of more than 20 million people.

History
Originally Shanghai was a textiles and fishing town, but in the 19th century grew to importance due to its favourable port location. In 1842, the city opened to foreign trade and began to flourish as a centre of commerce between the west and east. By the year 1930 Shanghai became a multinational hub of business and finance. In 1949, due to the communist takeover and the stoppage of foreign investments, the city’s prosperity was interrupted. But after 1990, economic reforms took place which resulted in Shanghai’s development, and by 2005 the city became the busiest cargo port in the world.

Geography
Shanghai lies on the eastern coast of China on the delta of Yangtze River. Shanghai is bordered on the west and north by the province of Jiangsu and in the south by the province of Zhejiang. On its east lies the East China Sea. Apart from some hills lying in the southern corner of Shanghai, most of its land area lies on flat alluvial plain. Many canals, rivers and streams are present in the city and it has rich water resources.

Economy
In China, Shanghai city is regarded as the center of trade, business and finance. It also has the largest share market in China. Today Shanghai ranks first as the busiest cargo port of the world, handling more than 560 million tons of cargo. As the city’s container traffic has increased, it also has become world’s second busiest port.

Transport
Shanghai’s public transport system is quite extensive and include taxis, buses, trolleybuses and a fast expanding metro system. The ‘Shanghai Public Transportation Card’ can be used to access all these public transports. This card uses radio frequencies which mean that it doesn’t have to touch to the scanner physically.

Architecture
A rich collection of structures and buildings of different architectural styles exist in Shanghai. ‘The Bund’ which is located on the bank of the river Huangpu has a rich collection of 20th Century architectures of various styles, ranging from the art deco ‘Sasson House’ to the neo-classical HSBC building. Despite its development, the old city still has some traditional style buildings. This include the Jiagnan style traditional garden called the ‘Yuyuan Garden’. Also the ‘Shanghai Grand Theatre’ and the Shanghai Museum are notable examples of contemporary architectures which have come up in recent years.

Attractions
Thousands of tourists visit Shanghai from around the world to see its economic impulse, and the blend of western and eastern cultures. The city has an oriental as well as western style.
The downtown area of the city has many attractions which include Huangpu River, Jinmao Tower, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Bund, Yuyan Garden, Xin Tian Di, and Shanghai Museum. The suburban areas also have places worth a visit which are Zhujajiao Water Town, Qibao Ancient Town and Changming Island.
The city’s restaurants serve a wide range of cuisines of foreign countries and different parts of China.
Shanghai also has many bustling shopping centers and commercial streets which are a shopper’s paradise. Some of them are Yuyan Shopping City, Xujiahui Shopping Center, North Sichuan Road, Nanging Road and Huaihai Road.

Taipei is the most populous city of the island of Taiwan. It is also its financial and political center. Since the year 1949, Taipei has been the provisional capital of the Republic of China. In the past years the city has seen a tremendous amount of growth and today it stands as a sprawling metropolis. The city is connected internationally through the ‘Taiwan Taoyan International Airport’.

Geography and Climate
Taipei is situated on the bowl shaped narrow valley of the Danshui on the Danshui river and its two tributaries, the Xindian (Sindian) and the Jilong (Keeling) rivers. The central areas on the western parts of Taipei has low lying terrains which slopes upward to the east, south and north. In the north it rises up to 1120 meters to the ‘Cising Mountain’.
The climate of Taipei is subtropical and humid. The summers are hot , rainy, muggy and the winters are cool and damp. Taipei’s annual average temperature is 23.6°c, while in summer the average temperature is around 29°c, in winter it is 11°c.

History
Founded in the earlier part of 18th century, Taipei became an important center of overseas trade by 19th century. After the Japanese acquisition in 1895, Taipei was made the capital of Taiwan island.  Again after the defeat of Japan in World War II in the year 1945, China took over the Taiwanese island and Taipei was made the country’s provisional capital.

Administrative Divisions
The Taipei Metropolitan area has been divided into Taipei County, Taipei City and Keelung City and they are administered under different government bodies. While the Taipei County and Keelung City fall under the Taiwan Province, the Taipei City is administered by the ‘Executive Yuyan’ directly. The whole metropolitan area is referred as Taipei and the city proper is referred as Taipei City.

Industry
Taipei consists of a major industrial area of Taiwan. The shipbuilding industry which include manufacture of yachts and other pleasure crafts are located in the city’s eastern port of Keelung. Most of the textile factories and factories for the manufacture of electronic products, cables, wires, refrigeration equipments, electrical machineries are located in Taipei.

Attractions
Taipei is a bustling city and it has many attractions for visitors. The monuments of ‘Chiang Kai-shek, former president of China is located here. It is known as ‘The National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall’. This monument is surrounded by a large square and a park. The ‘National Theater’ and the ‘National Concert Hall’ is located in this square. The Zhongzheng District of Taipei has the ‘President Building’ of the Republic of China. At a little distance from Taipei, the ‘National Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall’ is located which not only exhibits displays of revolutionary events but also serves as a cultural, social and educational center for the public of Taiwan. The ‘National Palace Museum’ in Taipei is a museum and art gallery which has a collection of international and Chinese artefacts. The ‘Taipei Fine Arts Museum’ is a modern art museum and contains more than 3000 artworks by Taiwanese artists. Other places of attractions in Taipei include the Taipei 101 building, the Longsham Temple, Bao’an Temple, the Taipei Confucian Temple, Zhinan Temple, the Red House Theater, the Beitov Hot Springs museum, Taipei Astronomical Museum, Taipei Science Education Center, the National Taiwan Museum, etc.

Shanghai is situated on the banks of the Yangtze River Delta in East China. Shanghai is one of the world’s busiest ports, and became the largest cargo port in the world in 2005. Since 1842, the city has grown into a massive international port that has attracted people from around the globe. Shanghai, also named Hu or Shen. On Dec. 3, 2002, Shanghai succeeded in winning the bid for the sponsorship of World Expo 2010. It has also become the country’s commercial and banking centre.

Shanghai has the most colourful night life in China. Shanghai’s first bars were opened in Hengshan Road, and they remain more popular than any where else. It is one of the most bustling places in Shanghai. Todays nightclubs, distinct from those in the old days, have become the best places of amusement, exercise, sports and relaxation.

Shanghai is the most famous shopping place in China. Known as Oriental Paris, there are already some wonderful high class boutiques. There are department stores, shopping centres, hundred year old shops, and shops for special commodities. Super Brand Mall is one of the few big shopping malls in the Pudong Area. Qipulu is nicknamed as Cheap Road, it is famous for cheap but fashionable goods. Shanghai Old Street is famous for its antique shops, Chinese style memorabilia shops, and tea shops.

Shanghai is sea food city. The food is generally sweet and oily, and local dishes include xiao long baozi a dumplings full of broth and meat, dazha xie which is crabs, and xiefen shizitou which is pork meatballs with crab inside. You will find cheap places in Wujiang Road, and nicer places are located in Xintiandi.

Huangpu River is the largest river in Shanghai. The Huangpu’s wharves are the most fascinating in China. The port handles the cargo coming out of the interior from Nanjing, Wuhan, and other Yangzi River ports. The river, yellow in colour and ice-free all the year round

Oriental Pearl TV Tower is situated next to the Huangpu river bank in Pudong Park. It is 468 meters, and the third highest TV Tower in the world. The design for the Tower incorporates eleven spheres and three gigantic columns, the highest at 350 metres Space Module, the middle at 263 and 259 metres the Sightseeing Floor, and the lowest at 90 metres the Space City. It is also possible to visit a revolving restaurant at the 267 metre level.
